Because "Plagiarencia" doesn't Have Quite the Same Ring to It...

It seems like I've been hitting the topic of comedy plagiarism quite a bit over the last few months in my Interesting Internets feed, and not in small part because it's already happened to me once in my fledgling comedic career. In case you didn't see it or just plain ignore all the stuff on the right hand side of the blog page, here's an example of what I'm talking about.

Pretty blatant, if you ask me. Ned Holness Carlos MenStealia Carlos Mencia has been hit particularly hard by these various accusations of late, and I have to say that I can understand where he's coming from. I too know what it's like to have the constant pressure of creating comedy gold, and as quite a few people are aware, (in particular the proprietor of a little blog called Skeet Throwin' (SFW)), I often turn to friends for help with new ideas.

Now Mr. Mencia certainly isn't the only famous comedian who has been caught using other guy's material, but I think the main reason that he is getting more flack than some is that when he isn't telling other people's jokes, he couldn't even make these people chuckle.

The naming your kid thing was also done by Steve Martin, so its more like Louis CK and Dane Cook stole it from him, but it all just revolves around a ridiculous name.

You know, I never really knew who Louis C.K. was until I went to his IMDB page. Turns out, I'm not really a big fan of him either. Sadly, I must admit that, at first, I just thought that might be another name for the hilarious Lewis Black.

That said, at least Lewis C.K. makes me laugh sometimes. Not on his HBO show though. That thing sucked.

We need to come up with some sort of code for links. Like italicizing a link means it's funny but you've probably seen it before, bold means it's horrible and should only be watched if extremely bored, and italic bold means you might not have seen it, but should immediately.

Having put all that effort in I now realize that the blogger comments section apparently doesn't allow bold.

On another note - I don't think you can totally write off somebody who directed Pootie Tang and was on multiple episodes of "The Mountain Dew Dana Carvey Show"

"it's funny but you've probably seen it before" This link I hadn't seen before and didn't think was that funny.
"it's horrible and should only be watched if extremely bored" Yes, it's horrible, but even if extremely bored The War at Home should probably not be watched.
"you might not have seen it, but should immediately." Well Dan, I'm sure you know I've seen that one.

Your system has failed me.

Go back to Panama you effin' nay sayer. Why don't you create something ... like inward singing.

Or whatever it is we were arguing about.

Mueller's using the system - so there.

So, your recent reference to square boobs made me go back in webcomic time to view your rendering of me and matt. It's the sign of a really good roommate and friend that you give him about 15 times more hair than he has in your comics.
