It's Tired in Here...

It's October, Halloween time, and apparently that means one thing these days.

I truly and honestly hate those movies. Maybe I just have a weak stomach, but they don't seem to scare me as much as they make me want to vomit.

What did scare me when I thought about it five minutes ago when I was a little kid were the Urban legends about murderers outside my car with hooks for hands and mental patients that would escape their wards to write messages on walls in blood.

I always thought that it would take a lot of patience for those killers to hang around in the dark so that they could set the just right mood, you know, really scare the crap out of somebody. I can't imagine that I'd be able to pull something like that off with the same ambiance that the legends manage.

I just saw hostel and it was gory not scary. I don't like scary movies, but a scary movie that isn't scary but makes you want to vomit is worse. I think. Although one night I did dream about having my Achilles tendons cut through with a scalpel...painful

I read some movie blog that classified Saw 4 as "Torture Porn." The sole purpose of the movie is to display graphic violence and the plot isn't even that good/scary (if you can't make the connection - its like porn movies exist solely to show gratuitous sex). You can see how the latter Saw movies or Hostel fall into this category. I will not be seeing those movies as I do not approve of (torture) porn.

In other news, when I was in high school I went and saw The Blair Witch Project, which, for some reason, scared the shit out of me. It was probably because I had to go into my dark basement to sleep at night. Sadly and mistakenly, I also went and saw the 2nd one which is one of the worst horror/scary movies all-time. Not scary. Not good - just frustrating.

On a urban legends note, here is a clip that is not from that movie (that I originally thought was), but was funny enough that I'm including it anyway: Bus Death.

Hostel was something that was only described to me verbally, which was enough for me to forever write it out of my life.

I also came across some Final Destination stuff (blurrily NSFW) in my attempt to find an Urban Legends clip worth posting (which I did not find, you may have noticed). Those movies weren't scary or gory... just absurd.

Ok - after watching that Final Destination 3 clip to completion... I'm gonna go ahead and say that movie is, in fact, gory. Ew.

What tanning bed allows the temperature to heat up over 300 degrees? I have never gone tanning, but I have to assume that the tanning beds have some sort of limit that prevents the heat from boiling water. Maybe I'm wrong.

In either case, I don't see myself tanning.
